IWill untersützt AMDs Dual-Core

IWill hat heute bekannt gegeben, dass die komplette HPC-Serie AMDs neue Dual-Core-Prozessoren unterstützen wird. Es müsse lediglich ein BIOS-Update durchgeführt werden, um die Unterstützung zu erhalten. Außerdem will IWill heute in Taipei ein 8fach-System mit Dual-Core-CPUs zeigen.

Taipei, Taiwan, April 21, 2005 – IWILL Corporation, a leading manufacturer of high-end server, workstation and appliance solutions, is demonstrating world’s first 8-way solution supporting the latest dual-core technology at Taipei AMD Opteron 2nd anniversary event on April 25, 2005. By leading dual-core technology in, IWILL multi-process server could get double computing horsepower within the same housing size.

To increase the computing density of server system, IWILL’s whole production line will be updated to support dual-core technology. Customers only need to take updating BIOS action, and they could immediately enjoy higher computing performance.

We will demonstrate a live 8-way AMD Opteron™ system, H8501, on the venue, and show applications under sixteen processing units. IWILL’s H8501 Octal Processor Server solution comprises of an IWILL QK8S-8P motherboard assembled using IWILL’s HTX-ProTM (HyperTransportTM eXpansion Pro) interfaces.
