Pressemitteilung Intel 848P based mainboard aims to take "Big Bite" out of P4 mainstream market! Albatron's PX865PE Lite Pro flexes FSB1000+/DDR400+ muscle! With Intel pushing FSB800 processors and market trends showing that consumers are leaning toward DDR400 technology, an influx of Intel 865 based mainboards has hit the market. Although these i865 high-powered (and sometimes pricey) boards have overtaken the top layer of the P4 pyramid of mainboards, a significant portion of the P4 market still remains in the hands of i845 based boards. After launching its own i865 mainboard (PX865PEL-800) earlier this year, Albatron Technology is again aiming to take another significant bite out of the i845 stronghold with the launch of the PX865PE Lite Pro, featuring the recently released Intel 848P chipset. This mainboard was designed to lean more toward i865 performance but is pegged at prices more palatable to the cost conscious consumer. The Albatron PX865PE Lite Pro mainboard delivers four of the most significant and advanced features available on the market today - FSB1000+ & DDR400+ & AGP 8X & and Serial ATA. These features will give the next wave of budget-minded consumers another option (aside from i845), allowing them to move up to the next level in mainboard performance but without the "new technology" price tag. Estimates show that there are significant performance improvements compared to i845 based mainboards. (1) FSB 1000+ MHz provides 8 GB/sec. data transfer rates between the Northbridge and the CPU. Compared with i845 chipset based mainboards, this is an increase in performance of 46.7%. (2) DDR 400+MHz supports the industryfs latest DDR technology. Compared with i845 based mainboards, this is an increase in transfer rates of more than 500 MB/sec. (3) Serial ATA provides 150 MB/sec. high-speed data transfer rates. Compared with i845 based Ultra ATA/100, it is an increase of more than 50%. (4) AGP 8X supports the latest high bandwidth AGP 8X graphics cards. Compared with i845 based AGP 4X, performance is doubled, providing 2.1 GB/sec. data transfer rates. If that's not enough, the PX865PE Lite Pro board will also feature one of Intel's more promising innovations, Hyper-Threading Technology, designed to streamline processing by simulating dual CPU processing. Aside from performance innovations, the PX865PE Lite Pro will contain an embedded 6 Channel Audio chipset allowing users to configure studio quality 3D surround-sound audio, optimizing sound effects from computer games, music CDs and DVDs. The onboard 3Com LAN chipset gives the board 10/100 Mbps reliable, high-quality LAN connectivity. This board provides 6 USB 2.0 ports giving users plug'n'play, 480 Mbps USB connectivity to printers, scanners, DSCs (Digital Still Cameras) and other PCs. With significant performance advantages and an abundance of rich features, the PX865PE Lite Pro mainboard has its sights set on the top rung of the performance/value ratings chart and aims to give consumers leading edge technology without the "leading edge" price tags.
