Microsoft stoppt Ekel-Spot für Internet Explorer 8 - Video

Microsoft reagiert damit auf Kritik an dem Spot, in dem sich eine Frau mehrmals übergibt, nachdem Sie eine offenbare anrüchige Webseite in der Browser-History auf dem Notebook des Ehemannes findet. Der Spot sollte auf das InPrivate-Browsing Feature des Internet Explorer 8 hinweisen.

Gegenüber CNet erklärt Microsoft, dass man sich bei dem Spot an früheren Spots orientiert habe, welche auch einen respektlosen Humor gehabt hätten:

"We created the OMGIGP video as a tongue-in-cheek look at the InPrivate Browsing feature of Internet Explorer 8, using the same irreverent humor that our customers told us they liked about other components of the Internet Explorer 8 marketing campaign. While much of the feedback to this particular piece of creative was positive, some of our customers found it offensive, so we have removed it."

Aber natürlich lässt sich solch eine Viral-Kampagne nicht einfach mehr stoppen, das Video ist also immer noch im Netz zu finden.
