PhysX ist nun bereits seit einigen Generationen bei NVIDIA im Einsatz. Dazu gesellen sich nun auch die neuen DirectX Compute Features
und OpenCL, die wir wohl in Zukunft auch immer öfter in Games, aber auch in
diversen Anwendungen insbesondere aus dem Grafikbereich antreffen werden.
Die Fermi Architektur hat in der Performance deutliche Vorteile
hervorgebracht, wenn nur eine GPU zum Einsatz
kommt und abwechselnd 3D und Physik-Berechnungen durchgeführt
werden.. Kepler bietet zwar bei PhysX noch einmal etwas mehr
Performance, allerdings ist die GTX 680 mehr als Gamer-Karte ausgelegt. In
OpenCL und Compute Anwendungen bricht die Performance von Kepler auch gerne
mal ein, was die GeForce GTX 780 durch ihre brachiale Rechenleistung
allerdings wieder etwas kompensiert.
