Microsoft Office 14 kommt erst 2010

Steve Ballmer hat auf einer Analystenkonferenz die Verschiebung von Office 14 höchstpersönlich offiziell bekanntgegeben. Es handelt sich also nicht um ein Gerücht. Ballmer wird wie folgt zitiert:

"From a strategy perspective, the next big innovation milestone is Office 14, our next Office release, which will not be this year, there's a version of Sharepoint, there's a version of Exchange, there's a new version of Office Live."

Eine Microsoft-Sprecherin bestätigt dies in einer E-Mail:

"We can confirm, as Steve Ballmer shared this morning during his meeting with financial analysts, that the next version of Office will be available next year.[...]"

Ursprünglich sollte Office 14 im ersten Halbjahr 2009 auf den Markt kommen. Nun soll in diesem Zeitraum eine erste Beta des neuen Office erscheinen.
