Sonys Playstation PS3 nicht abwärtskompatibel?

Sony Computer Entertainment President Ken Kataragi fügt hinzu: "The current Xbox will become antiquated once the new machine comes out this November. When that happens, the Xbox will be killing itself. The only way to avoid that is to support 100 percent compatibility from its [Xbox 360's] launch date, but Microsoft won't be able to commit to that. It's technically difficult."

Durch die Aussage von Ken Kataragi ist nun offiziell bestätigt, dass eine PS1 oder PS2 mit dem Kauf einer PS3 eingemottet werden kann. Die Hard- und Softwareemulation der neuen Spielekonsole soll eine Abwärtskompatibilität sicherstellen.
