Es lassen sich Service Packs und Treiber integrieren, Startoptionen einstellen und vieles mehr. Hauptsächlich bekannt ist das Programm aber dadurch, dass bestimmte Windows-Komponenten von der CD entfernen kann. Eine Installations-CD kann so tatsächlich auf unter 250 MB kommen, was Platz für andere Programme schafft. nLite steht nun in der Version 1.4 RC zum Download bereit, unterstützt werden Windows 2000, Windows XP (auch 64 Bit) und Windows Server 2003 (auch 64 Bit).
