| A Short Question Here are my specs:
http://24K-gaming.com/filez/cpuz.htm
Which Setup is better connected to performance?
2700 MHz @ CPU
450 MHz @ RAM
or
2500 MHz @ CPU
500 MHZ @ RAM
Is there a possibility to increase my RAM timings because the RAM run 50 MHz under the default level?
Thank you | |

| Gast | AW: A Short Question Probably the 1st but you schould try to benchmark your sys with 3dMark or Aquamark and so on. Then you will know exactly | |

| AW: A Short Question hi,
denke auch das die erste einstellung, die bessere wahl ist.
aber teste das mal mit pcmark02 oder wars 03 ? glaub war 02 , wo du dann cpu / speicher .. unterteilt hast.

hi,
i think too, that the first settings are the better ones.
but test them with PC Mark02 oder PC Mark04 | <>X4 9950BE@3,2Ghz<>2GB OCZ<>PNY Geforce 8800GT <> "Science is like sex, sometimes something useful comes out but that is not the reason we are doing it!"(Richard P. Feynman) |

| Gast | AW: A Short Question Yeah, i think that you have to test your System too. Download Aquamark3 or 3dmark 03 to benchmark it

Zitat von ganove- Is there a possibility to increase my RAM timings because the RAM run 50 MHz under the default level? | Yes, could be the case. But to be able to help you with this, the exact name and specs of the modules are necessary.
Am I right that we talk about an A64-System ?
EDIT: Oh... I forgot the link
I don´t think you will get the timings down very much, as there should be Hynix chips on your RAM, which are rather high latency chips. |

| AW: A Short Question yes, im think that the first configuration would be better to play, because 200mhz more cpu clock are normaly faster then 50mhz ram clock more!
and, like the others said, benchmarking would give you a clear answer to your question i hope you can understand me, because my english is not very well... MfG

| AW: A Short Question Hi, use the first setting and lower you RAM timings, try to achieve timings like that: Cl 2,5 3 3 6.
Your RAM Modules are High Latency ones, so increase the voltage up to 2,7 V.
A CAS Latency of Cl 2,5 3 3 6 seems reachable with a 225 MHz FSB.

| AW: A Short Question Thank you all 4 the quick and helpful answers.
I am currently using the first setup and play with the ram timings.
After that I will benchmark both setups and I'll post the results in here...
How far does the divider affect performance?
1st setup: CPU/12
2nd setup: CPU/10
Aren't similar Hz of HTT and RAM a big advantage?
Within the 2nd setup I use 250 (500) MHz RAM and 250 MHz HTT
*EDIT1*
My System runs stable now with those RAM setts: 2-3-3-6 @ 225 MHz
I am currently installing 3DMark03...
*EDIT2*
RAM: Whats about Twr, Trwt, Trfc and Trc? Currently this values are at 3, 4, 14, 12... |

Zitat von ganove- Aren't similar Hz of HTT and RAM a big advantage?
Within the 2nd setup I use 250 (500) MHz RAM and 250 MHz HTT | No, not in case of Athlon64-systems. Due to the A64s on-die memory controller, HT- and RAM-clock are performance-wise independent of each other. Zitat:
Zitat von ganove- RAM: Whats about Twr, Trwt, Trfc and Trc? Currently this values are at 3, 4, 14, 12... | These settings do not affect performance very much. However, for further tweaking you might find this tutorial very helpful (Helped me a lot ). The tutorial should be applicable for other boards than the Ultra-D, too.
