Pentium4 1.4ghz, 640megs of Rambus memory, Geforce4 Ti 4200

Hey, was wondering if anyone could help me pinpoint my performance problem, I have a pentium 4 1.4ghz cpu, 640 megs of rambus/RDdram memory, and an Asus geforce4 ti4200 128meg vide card......I'm only getting about 8100 marks on 3dmark2001 SE and I see alot of other people getting 13,000 or 14,000.......I have the latest detonator 4 drivers, at first i thought it was my video card, but now I think its my cpu and mainboard, although.........rambus memory is supposed to be fast from what i hear and my board is supposed to have a 400mhz FSB, 4x100 or something like that.....anyone know more about this?

Do you have correct bios settings?

agp apture size 128 (or 256?)
agp fast write enable

and so on?

with the GF4 Ti4200 you can only get more than 10.000 3dmarks if you overclock your card.

But not with Pentium4 1400 MHz , it is too slow CPU .

reen i think these settings aren´t the right one´s!

the agp size should not be set so high.... 64mb is really enough

and fast write should be enabled.

and @ gemini: your result is ok.....

i think 14000 point could only be reached by a p4 2800 or so an a radeon 9700

okay, it is right agp fast write must be enable was my mistake

but with such a high agp apture size running my system faster

a friend of mine get 145xx points with TI 4200 (305/590) and XP 1900+ it is really amazing...

but high apg size needs cpu speed to cache and controll memory and if this memory is used it is very very slow!
