Tyan’s Latest Class of Optimal Server Solutions – The GT-14 Family

New Series of GT-14 Barebones Provides Extra Space for an Additional 1U Rackmount Slot

Tyan Computer Corporation, the leading server platform provider, releases a series of compact GT-14 barebone solutions, featuring both AMD and Intel processors. Barebone solutions specifically designed for overall space reduction by permitting two GT-14 barebones to be conveniently mounted in a 1U rackmount slot, also allowing the IO panel to face either front or back. With the 3.5”/2.5” HDD flexibility feature, the newest additions are the latest world-class innovations offered by Tyan.

Brimming with many excellent system features and capabilities, the Tank GT14-B5372-LC, utilizes the Tempest i5000VS (S5372-LC) platform to comply with various applications and objectives. The barebone supports two quad-core or dual-core Intel Xeon processors, six FBDIMM slots, and up to 24GB fully buffered DDR2 of memory capacity. The Tank GT14 B5372-LC features an optional PCI-E or PCI-X expansion slot, Tyan LCM module, and Remote System Management IPMI 2.0 capabilities. It also has an additional Tyan Taro card equipped on the SO-DIMM slot and (2) SATA/SATA2 2.5” HDD with RAID 0/1 support. Perfect for high computing power and memory density needs.

An entry level server solution, the Tank GT14 (B5180), is both exceptionally economical and practical. Features include the single socket-T (LGA775) supporting Intel P4, Pentium D & Core 2 Duo processors, ICH8 and Intel Q965 (Broadwater) MCH chipset with integrated graphics, and (2) DDR2 DIMMs up to 8GB DDR2-533/667/800 of non ECC registered memory. Additionally, it sports (4) SATA2 ports with (2) 3.5” and (1) 2.5” SATA2 HDD, (1) standard height PCI-E card M2083-RS (default) or (1) PCI-X card M2061 (option), and Tyan SMDC IPMI2.0 M3291 (option). It’s a considerably smart solution for any entry-level web, mail or video server functions.

Our more versatile server platform, the GT14 (B2933) is a short rack solution supporting (2) AMD Rev F Opteron 2000 series processors, (8) DDR2 DIMMs up to 32 GB DDR2 registered memory, (1) nVIDIA nForce Pro 3600 chipset, and (1) PCI-Express x 16 slot. With the addition of an LCM module and HDD tray equipped, the GT14 (B2933) is the complete system for network infrastructure development and server applications.

"With increased density and its small compact design, our selective GT-14 barebone system is both economical and revolutionary for the next-generation 1U solution," said Danny Hsu, President of Tyan Computer. "The unparalleled design and flexibility will offer our customers plenty of space conservation and energy reduction without decreasing the overall system performance."
