BenQ hat heute zwei neue DVD-Brenner vorgestellt. Die beiden Multi-Format-Brenner unterscheiden sich lediglich durch den Support von Dual-Layer-Medien. Der preiswertere DM1610 wird nur Single-Layer-Medien beschreiben können, der DW1620 kann bis zu 8,5 GByte auf eine DVD-Seite packen.

With both the DW1610 and DW1620 performing dual-format capabilities, the DW1620 also comes double-layer (DL) ready and equipped to record a full double-layer DVD disc up to 8.5GB. The new state-of-the-art DW1610 and DW1620 16X –making both models an ideal choice for users looking for versatility and flexible recording options. With new double layer recording technology nearly doubling the storage capacity of traditional single-layer DVD recordable media, the new BenQ DW1620 provides the user with the option to back-up and archive large amounts of data.
Each model can also write selected 8X DVD+R media at write speeds up to 16X under some condition, enabling consumers to take advantage of quick recording times and a variety of storage applications. In addition to its double-layer DVD+R recording capabilities, the DW1620 package also includes a 16X DVD+R media, BenQ’s QVideo and Book Type Management software.
