A-DATA first launches the lead-free green memory module

A-DATA, the leading memory module maker in Taiwan, launches “Green lead-free memory modules” for the upcoming green electronics era. A-DATA Technology stresses that this green memory module is made with lead-free technology, and will cooperate with other semi-conductor firms to phase in lead-free components. In addition, A-DATA collaborates with suppliers to develop the related products in order to meet environmental requirements. A-DATA strives for creating a clean and beautiful society, benefiting relevant global industries and the users as well.

In view of European Union’s WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), Japan’s NEDO (New Energy & Industrial Technology Development Organization) and USA’s NEMI (National Electronics Manufacturing Initiative), A-DATA raised the plan of restricting electrical and electronic products against pollution. In addition to paying attention to customer’s demands, A-DATA perceives that air pollution, soil pollution, and groundwater pollution, caused by hazardous substances, will endanger our environment.

European Union has announced the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS). Under the directive on the RoHS, any new electrical and electronic equipment must not contain certain hazardous substances, i.e., lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), which has been the global environmental requirements as well as the basic technology threshold in IT industry.  

A-DATA’s green memory modules series consists of lead-free DRAM, lead-free PCB as well as lead-free electric resistors and capacitors. To conform to the environmental standard and the directive on the RoHS, A-DATA passed the related certifications, adopting green packaging and lead-free standardized manufacturing procedures.  

A-DATA green memory modules series include DDR/DDR2 DIMM modules for desktop PCs and servers as well as DDR/DDR2 SODIMM and MICRO DIMM modules for notebook PCs.
