Wie viel Leistung lässt sich heraus kitzeln

Dual GPU Karten sind in der Regel nicht wirklich gut zu Übertakten, da die Kühlung und Spannungsversorgung dieser Karten oft bereits am Limit läuft. Natürlich lässt die GeForce GTX 590 darauf hoffen, das die GPUs deutlich höhere Taktraten vertragen können, denn immerhin werden sie auf der GTX 570 und GTX 580 deutlich höher getaktet.

Ein entscheidender Faktor ist hierbei aber die Core Voltage, die auf der GTX 590 deutlich niedriger liegen wird. Leider hatten wir zum Zeitpunkt dieses Test noch kein Tool parat mit dem sich die Core Spannung der GPUs ändern lässt, so dass wir nur auf konventionelle Art übertakten konnten.

Von den 607 MHz die als Standard eingestellt sind schafften wir es mit der Point of View Karte doch auf beachtliche 690 MHz, dass ist deutlich mehr als wir eigentlich erwartet hatten. Ab 700 MHz kam es je nach Benchmark zu abstürzen. Mit mehr Spannung dürfte aber sicherlich noch etwas mehr drin sein. Der Speicher der Karte scheint bereits relativ am Limit zu laufen und war bei unseren Versuchen so gut wie gar nicht zu übertakten.

Insgesamt zeigt die GeForce GTX 590, damit natürlich not etwas mehr Performance. Allerdings ist der Gewinn eigentlich zu keiner Zeit so relevant, dass er spürbar wäre. Das Übertakten der GTX 590 dürfte somit vielleicht für Rekordjäger interessant sein aber weniger für Gamer.
