Microsoft will Yahoo! übernehmen [Update]

Bisher waren es aber eben nur Gerüchte, die weder von Yahoo! noch von Microsoft bestätigt wurden. Nun aber ist es offiziell.

Microsoft bietet 31 US-Dollar pro Aktie, die Gesamtsumme beläuft sich damit auf 44,6 Milliarden US-Dollar. Die Aktionäre von Yahoo! bekämen somit rund 62 Prozent mehr für jede Aktie, als diese aktuell Wert sind. Microsofts Interesse an Yahoo! ist verständlich, würde man so doch seine Position gegenüber Google stärken. Steve Ballmer meint dazu:

"We have great respect for Yahoo!, and together we can offer an increasingly exciting set of solutions for consumers, publishers and advertisers while becoming better positioned to compete in the online services market. We believe our combination will deliver superior value to our respective shareholders and better choice and innovation to our customers and industry partners."
