SiS962-Southbridge mit USB2.0

Montag, 11.

Pressemitteilung SiS Announces Integration of High-Performance USB 2.0 Host Controller in its SiS962 South Bridge March 11th 2002, Taipei, Taiwan - Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), a leading core logic and graphic chips supplier, today announced that it has integrated a high-performance USB 2.0 host controller into its MuTIOL Media IO south bridge product, the SiS962. Designed with SiS MuTIOL technology, the SiS962, coupled with SiS’s MuTIOL north bridge, provide a complete solution for both desktop and laptop PC platforms by supporting up to six USB 2.0 high-speed ports. “The unique USB 2.0 features in the SiS962 provide a high-performance host controller with a blazing 480Mb/s data rate and interconnect with SiS MuTIOL channel layers at a bandwidth of 1.2GB/s, which is 10 times the amount of bandwidth provided by a PCI bus”, commented Alex Wu, Director of Integrated Product Division of SiS. The SiS962’s USB 2.0 host controller, interconnecting with SiS MuTIOL architecture at this expanded 1.2GB/s of bandwidth, is able to handle the simultaneous bandwidth requests of the multiple devices integrated in the SiS962. It has been designed to comply with Enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI) specification standards for the interface between the USB 2.0 host controller and its software driver.
