Eigentlich empfehlen die Entwickler, auf Firefox 3.0 umzusteigen, dennoch wird Firefox 2 immer noch aktualisiert.

Die neueste Ausgabe des Firefox 2 tägt die Versionsnummer 2.0.0.15 und schließt einige Sicherheitslücken.
