Das mit den Radeon 9800 XT eingeführte "OverDrive"-Feature erlaubt die dynamische Übertaktung, die die Auslastung der Grafikkarte und die Umgebungstemperatur berücksichtigt. Ebenfalls neu ist die "VPU Recover"-Funktion, die bei einem gravierenden Grafik-Fehler (Absturz) einen Reset der Radeon-Karte vornehmen kann.
