Nun hat Hotz ein Video veröffentlicht, dass die PS3 mit der Firmware-Version 3.21 zeigt und weiterhin den Zugriff auf das Linux-Betriebssystem sowie das PSN gewährt. Den Angaben von Hotz zufolge soll der Patch "super simpel" zu nutzen sein und bald als Download zur Verfügung stehen.
Wie Sony auf die Provokation des Hacker-Genies reagiert bleibt abzuwarten. Sonys Bemühen, den Linux-Support zu entfernen, wird vor allem auf Hotz‘ ersten PS3-Hack zurückgeführt, der die Linuxfunktion nutzt um Zugriff auf sonst geschützte Speicherbereiche zu ermöglichen.
