December 27, 2002 –After successfully introducing a series of Bluetooth™ technology products, EPoX Computer Co., Ltd. has announced a new product, the EPoX Bluetooth™ Printer Adapter (BT-PA01). This Bluetooth™ printer adapter is a Bluetooth device that easily enables wireless printing from Bluetooth™ enabled devices, such as desktops, laptops, PDAs and mobile phones, by effortlessly transforming any ordinary printer into a Bluetooth™ one. It is a cost-effective wireless solution in comparison to LAN/WLAN and is highly suitable for mobile users. EPoX is the first Asian company to produce this class of product. Since 2001, EPoX has began to engage in developing wireless products to show its commitment in the wireless communication field. During Computex 2002, EPoX came out with two Bluetooth™ products —the EPoX USB Dongle (BT-DG02) and the EPoX Bluetooth™ Motherboard Module (BT-MB01). The EPoX USB Dongle is a portable wireless communication device that can connect with desktops, laptops or PDAs. The Bluetooth™ Motherboard Module integrates with EPoX motherboards, such as the EP-4BEAV series. In essence, the EPoX Bluetooth™ Printer Adapter is a portable Bluetooth™ device that fits into the parallel port of the printer and provides short-range hassle-free wireless printing. Its transceiving range can be up to 10 meters (30 meters at line of sight) with up to 115,200 bps printing speed. Whilst at the moment printers with integrated Bluetooth™ technology are scarce, EPoX Bluetooth™ Printer Adapter is able to effortlessly transforming any ordinary printer into a Bluetooth™ one. Supporting Windows Plug-and-Play, it is easy to set up without software configuration. It uses the Serial Port Profile (SPP) method that allows wireless printing from any Bluetooth™ devices with Windows applications (supported O/S including Windows98/ME/2000/XP/Pocket PC) to any printer. With this EPoX Bluetooth™ Printer Adapter, people can print from any Bluetooth™ enabled devices, such as laptops, PDAs, mobile phones, to any Bluetooth™ enabled printer located wherever in the house, hotel receptions, customer’s offices, or branch offices. It doubtlessly adds more freedom and flexibility to printing, especially for those mobile users. Today the requirement to wirelessly share and print information is increasing.
