Iraq Reiseführer des amerikanischen Militärs

Weiter beschreibt die Lektüre, dass die Menschen dort unter einer Monarchie mit gewählter Legeslative leben. Das Land wird durch britische Truppen vor den Deutschen geschützt, welche unter der Führung von Hitler besonders an das wertvolle Öl wollen.

Um dies zu verhindern schreibt das amerikanische Militär:

" [...] At the northern ens of these valley is the important oil field of Kirkuk. [...] These fields and pipe-lines are among the richest price Hitler would like to grab, and they be among your most important military duties , for this oil is the source for the armies of the Middle East and India, and also feeds the Mediterranean fleet."

Auch folgender Auszug klingt sehr bekannt:

" That tall man in the flowing robe you are going to see soon, with the whiskers and the long hair, is a first-class fighting man, highly skilled in guerilla warfare. Few fighters, in any country, in fact excel him in that kind of situation. If he is your friend, he can be a staunch and valuable ally. If he should happen to be your enemy - look out!"
